A Chancery Court may award visitation rights between a parent and a child in divorce or child custody cases. The primary goal of visitation rights is to preserve and nurture a child's relationship with the non-custodial parent.
Grandparents' rights to visitation are limited to circumstances where a parent is deceased, or the parent's rights have been terminated. They do not necessarily have a guaranteed right to visit and see their grandchildren.
If you currently have visitation rights through a court order, you have the right to have that order enforced.
Call Rosalind H. Jordan, Attorney, to discuss Parent or Grandparent Visitation Rights, or the enforcement of an existing order at (662) 289-7339.
